Lotus clinic for A riders

'A riders clinic' with seasoned Coach Allan Prazsky

Riders will work on the following skills and cycling aspects important for performance, safety and bike handling:

1) Group riding at faster speeds

2) Pace Line positioning and group tactics when riding at faster speeds

3) Group etiquette when working “together” or planning a tactical effort

4) Address specific nuances from riders as it relates to Lotus Cycling

The emphasis will be on bike handling with some speed when considering safety and etiquette.  The more riders can “flow” together, the more fun everyone will have, and the faster we will move together as a unit.

There will be a follow up Advanced Clinic which will address more “race specific” tactics and aggressive yet safe riding. Date TBD.

First group ride of 2018

Stanley park SPLOOPS!

This ride takes us on the usual route to Stanley Park via Burrard Bridge, Beach Ave.  We do three SPLoops and then back down Pacific to Burrard bridge.  Head west on Cornwall out to Alma, then 4th Ave down to NW Marine Drive, up the Spanish Bank Hill (get used to this, haha), Chancellor Blvd to Blanca, then 8th Ave bike route to Cypress St. and back to Be Fresh.

As always, discuss any changes with your ride leader!

Bring water bottles and nutrition!

We try to stick to designated cycling routes as much as possible in all route planning but sometimes construction or closures require deviations.  It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the route and possible detours, should they come up.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to email me directly or talk to your ride leader on Saturday morning.

*Incentive*  -  for the month of May, I will be monitoring Strava for Spanish Bank climbs.  We do this climb a lot on Wednesdays and some Saturdays...it's a great cardio and strength builder.  For the club member who busts up this hill the most times, there will be a prize offering. Details to follow, stay tuned....
